What would be the best way to get to Ireland from Italy during July?
I already put up this question a few days ago about how I'm going to Italy in the summer. I want to go to Ireland for a weekend while I'm staying in Italy for school. Anybody know the best way to get from Italy to Ireland? By best I mean least expensive, safest... stuff like that. I know the rail system over there can't be beat, but would it be cheaper to go by train and then boat or the Chunnel or something, or would flying be the best option? Come on Europeans help me out!

I'd imagine if you are only going for the weekend you would definitely have to fly, anything else would take too long!

Your best bet is to fly...Any other way would take too long..Look the internet for cheap flights.

Oh for goodness sake, look at an atlas and have a bit of sense. It would take you days to travel by train! Fly! There are direct flights from Italy to Cork, Dublin and Shannon! Try www.aerlingus.com.

It would definitely not be cheaper by train, plus it would take days and you'd have to travel through England and Wales as well if you were going by the chunnel. I learned my italien on web, there was a bbc site for languages, but im not finiding that site anymore, i was going to learn other languages too :(, they had the best tutorial and was for free!! i took it for 3 months, then i started to join yahoo group, the italien ones and started to practice it, until now im still practising it and im fine now.

Take conquers advise, the web that was promoted is still there, I have been having a bit of a practise myself.

i may be moving to these two places which one do you think is better for a high school person 9th grader? italy in apartment or london living with 5 other cousin or watever which place is beteer ? some ppl r stupid o my god not by myself god.... with my aunt

you seem a bit young to be making this decision or "choice" on your own. isnt this something your parents should be deciding? regardless, you need to be wherever you know people and trust them. you are still too young to really know what the world can be like. otherwise you will become just another idiot american girl that thought she was invincible and something terrible happens. either place will work just fine and are so close to each other once you are there that you can always visit the one you dont choose. you need to talk to your parents or trusted adults on this, not a web full of strangers.

You get to take an apartment by yourself at age 14? What's going on, here? You are not old enough to take care of yourself at home, much less all alone in a foreign country! Stay at home with your parents.

Live in Italy mate. It is safer for someone your age. And the drug problem isn't so bad there.

I'm italian and i would suggest you to go to London, cause our school system is totally different from all the rest of the world. It could even be not accept everywhere. Btw, America is better i think ;)

It depends if you speak Italian. I seriously doubt you speak Italian (but I may be wrong) so I'd say play it safe and go to London. If you learn Italian, you could always give Italy a try. I've been living here for almost 9 years and like it very much, but Italy does have it's problems. Well, every country has it's problems but it depends if you are willing to go with the flow or want to live in a nice little box. Will you be moving to Europe by yourself or with your family? I mean, at least here in Italy no one in their right mind will rent an apartment to a 9th grader.

hi I'm an italian girl and i will come in washington with my high school I'll attenden the landon school for 10 days in april ( 24 april- 3 may)...This is possible thanks to an exchange.. There are people that attended this school? Can you tell me some informations about the school and the city? There are someone that take part in it?I'll be an host in a family...! umm... The only Landon School in the Washington, D.C. area that I know of is an all-boys school. I don't think they accept female exchange students. La sola Scuola di Landon nella Washington, D.C. l'area che so di è una scuola per i ragazzi. Non penso che accettino gli studenti di scambio femminili. E sono così spiacente per il mio Italin orribile, è probabilmente molto peggiore di i suoi inglesi.

Here are my criteria for the class: ~3-4 hour class that is only one day long ~Prefered to be in the Tuscany area (Umbria region is best, but places like Florence are okay) ~I'd really like it to involve italian culture-like where we would go to the market and then back to the kitchen to cook ~Must be able to speak English Thank you so much!! :)

Yes, there is a cooking class in Italy that I came across in the internet. I came across it a month ago thinking "that would be a nice place to go for a vacation." I need to backtrack my steps to find that link.
