Culinary Institute "Gianni Brera" (Como, Italy) http://www.centrocasnati.eu/ Magici Sapori (Firenze, Italy) http://www.magicisapori.com/english/ Apicius -The Culinary Institute of Florence (Florence or Tuscany, Italy) http://www.culinaryinstituteofflorence.com/index.html I suggest two things: -Check out "Peterson's culinary schools" They probably have a list of more Italian culinary schools -Learn/take Italian if you're not already. Many, if not all, Italian culinary schools are in Italian so learn the language. Good luck!

High school student exchange italy, france? what was it like

High school student exchange italy, france? what was it like?
i live in canada and have good grades, i also know the company were going to do the exchange through (its a non profit organization called CEEF-ceef.ca) my guidance counselor said its a great idea, i can choose between italy, france, spain, mexico, belgium, the netherlands and germany. although you choose 4 countries on the entry for my choices go like this 1. italy 2. france 3. spain 4. belgium i speak french but you can go knowing very little of whatever language you speak in the country you choose. im just worried about 1 thing, first the person from the other country comes here and lives with me and my family for threemonths from mid-august to mid-november and then i go from mid-february to mid-may and i dont mind being away from my parents cause im used to that but im worried about having to be with this person in my home 24/7, no alone time with my best friends etc. can anyone tell me of their experience? advice? anything? Thanks a million!

I've hosted 12 exchange students now. The idea is NOT for them to "live in your pocket" while they are staying with you! You should introduce them around -- and maybe find someone else at school interested in introducing them around as well. Get them involved in some activities ... they need to make their own friends. However, you do need to make sure they are included in your major activities -- parties, social events, ball games, etc. However, you are not expected to have them go with you ALL the time either. Remember though, when YOU go on your exchange, that you need to make friends on your own as well! What goes around, comes around. You make this person feel welcome, they will make you feel welcome! For general info on being an exchange student, have a look at this website: http://www.exchangestudentworld.com/

Would high school students be able to drink while on a field trip to Italy

Would high school students be able to drink while on a field trip to Italy?
I am an 18 year old high school student from the United States and my class is going to Italy this spring for a field trip. Some of my friends and I were wondering if we would be able to drink while we were out un Italy. What are the drinking age limits in Italy? Are there any restrictions on us drinking because we're Americans?

There is no law stating a limit of age for drinking any kind of alcoholic drink, art 689 Codice Penale forbids serving alcoholic drinks to minors under 16 in public places like restaurants, pubs, etc. A proposal to increase the purchasing age to 18 has been rejected by parliament in 2007. Your teachers may be risking their jobs if they allow you to drink, its not just about the law. When I was 12 years old we went to France (from UK) where we were allowed to drink wine, but the teachers made us keep the bottles off the tables, I think so they would not be in a photos

You can drink. My school [UK] go around europe all the time. The teachers don't enjoy it, but who cares. They impose restrictions on you such as being 'home' at a certain time. But no, no laws stopping you. Its legal! Enjoy

There is no law about you drinking but since you are traveling with you school you are required to follow the rules they set out. If you are drinking your chaperones could cause problems for you when you return. You could get suspended from school. If your chaperones are cool then you probably will be able to sample and drink a little as long as you act responsibly and appropriately and don't get piss ass drunk. You are of legal drinking age in Italy though.

I'm going to italy for four months with a school program, what do you think my baggage allowance will be?
I'll be in Italy from September to December. I'm not sure what airline we are going on yet but does anyone have a rough idea what kind of baggage limits there are for people traveling for four months?

two large luggage's
2 :
No. You get the same luggage allowance whether you are going for a week or a year. The airline does not care about how long you are going for just how much the bags weigh.
